Acoustical Material Distributors, Inc. distributes only high quality mineral fiberboard products such as those provided by USG. Acoustical mineral fiberboard has excellent sound treatment properties for absorbing sound and soundproofing for rooms of any size. Soundproofing a small or large room with mineral fiberboard can achieve optimal sound treatment. Acoustical mineral fiberboard uses sound absorption to dampen the reverberating sounds (also known as echoes) in virtually any room or application. As sound reflects off of the many surfaces in a room, the sound deadened or dampened and thus, provide less reverberation or echoes in that room. Acoustical mineral fiberboard also reduces sound travel through the material to another room or area.
Acoustical mineral fiberboard is one of many sound treatment and soundproofing methods and products to treat acoustics. Aside from treating sound with mineral fiberboard, you can also treat sound with acoustical ceiling panels, acoustical wall panels and other acoustical products found here on this site.
Uncover the Possibilities. As a substrate or core, MICORE® Brand Mineral Fiber Board from USG complements your design with quality and superior performance. Note: The terms soundproofing and soundproof are used in the above description of acoustical mineral fiberboard is to describe treating sound and acoustics, not stopping sound travel. The true definition of sound proof products are products that stop sound completely from travelling from one area to another. The correct terms to use when treating or absorbing sound is acoustical treatment, sound treatment, sound absorption, sound damping or sound dampening. To completely and truly soundproof an environment, you must have acoustical products that completely stop all sound travel and completely enclose the environment using soundproofing materials such as mass loaded vinyl and sound barriers. Acoustical mineral fiberboard is not considered soundproofing products.
